About the organisation
Wildlife Victoria is a not-for-profit organisation that has provided Victoria with a statewide wildlife emergency response service since 1989. Our 24/7 Emergency Response Service responds to calls for help for wildlife from members of the public via an emergency phone and online reporting system.
With a statewide network of over 1,300 trained wildlife rescue and transport volunteers, wildlife rehabilitators, and in field wildlife veterinarians and veterinary nurses, we offer an end-to-end wildlife emergency response service to the Victorian public at no cost.
We are experiencing a consistent year-on-year increase in demand for services with the primary demand drivers – climate change, habitat destruction and urbanisation – all impacting the State’s wildlife adversely. Public concern for wildlife and biodiversity has been amplified since the 2019/2020 Black Summer bushfires and Wildlife Victoria is at the frontline of public demand for response.
About the role
Fundraising for Wildlife Victoria has been steady up until this point however with demand on our services growing, the CEO and Board have recognised the need for higher level and more consistent fundraising. This has led to the review of a leadership role which previously focused on External Relations and campaign based public fundraising so that it will now focus on philanthropy and large partnership opportunities while maintaining external relations and campaign based fundraising via leadership of an experienced team.
Success in this role will see you inspired and motivated by your personal passion for wildlife and conservation as you review philanthropic income with the aim to ensure the financial longevity of the organisation while also creating a strong operational framework to support future increased income, tying in the vital element of external relations.
You will be someone who enjoys leading and inspiring a team of fundraising and external relations specialists while also developing and maintaining productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including the board, government officials and a wide range of financial supporters.
